MOSbox Terms of Service#
Last updated: October 11, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and MOSbox. MOSbox is operated by Joseph Pedreira Jr., a sole proprietor doing business as MOSbox, in Louisiana, United States ("MOSbox," "we," "us"). They cover both studios (the businesses that use MOSbox) and their clients (the couples and others they serve). By creating an account, submitting a form, signing a contract, paying through MOSbox, or using a Vault, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Email Policy. If you don't agree, don't use MOSbox.
If you're a studio: Part A (sections 2–8) and Part C (sections 17–27) apply to you.
If you're a client: Part B (sections 9–16) and Part C (sections 17–27) apply to you.
1. Definitions#
- Studio — a business (photographer, videographer or other creative) that signs up for MOSbox to book clients and deliver media. The person who opens the account is the studio owner.
- Client — anyone a studio works with through MOSbox, such as a couple.
- Vault — a free account that receives and keeps media delivered to a client.
- Vault owner — a person with a verified email address on a Vault, for example each partner in a couple.
- Delivered Media — photos and videos a studio has published to a Vault.
- Project — the link between one studio and one client, holding that pairing's files, contracts, payments and galleries.
- Vault membership — the optional paid membership in section 15.
Part A — For studios#
2. Studio accounts#
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information. Keep your sign-in details safe.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account, including what your team members do.
- MOSbox may be available by invitation while it's in beta.
3. Subscriptions, billing and cancelling#
- Billing. Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you choose the plan. Plans renew automatically until you cancel.
- Monthly plans renew on the 1st of each month. If you start partway through a month, your first charge is prorated: it covers only the days left in that month. Then full monthly charges begin on the 1st.
- Cancel any time. You keep full access until the end of the period you've already paid for: the rest of the month on a monthly plan, or the rest of the year on a yearly plan. We don't give refunds for part of a period unless the law requires one.
- Price changes. We give at least 30 days' notice before changing your plan's price. A change never affects a period you've already paid for.
- Beta. While MOSbox is in beta, some or all features may be free. We'll give notice before paid billing starts.
- After a paid period ends without payment, or after cancelling, your studio moves to read-only. You can still see your records, but you can't send files or start new work until the plan is active again. Media you delivered follows section 14.
4. Taking payments from clients#
- Stripe. Online payments are processed by Stripe. Each studio connects its own Stripe account, which is governed by the Stripe Services Agreement between the studio and Stripe. Stripe charges the studio its own processing fees.
- Money goes straight to the studio. MOSbox never holds clients' money. It moves from the client to the studio's Stripe account and on to the studio's bank.
- MOSbox's fee. MOSbox charges 0.25% of each online payment (card or bank transfer), on top of Stripe's fees. It's taken automatically from each payment. We give at least 30 days' notice before changing it.
- Passing the fee to clients. A studio may choose to have clients pay the processing fee.
- On card payments, the fee a client pays is limited to 3%, the most card rules allow. The studio covers anything above that.
- A fee can't be charged on debit or prepaid cards. If a client pays with one, MOSbox automatically refunds the fee line, and the studio pays the fee on that payment.
- Laws about charging fees to customers vary by state. The studio is responsible for following the rules where it does business.
- Refunds. Studios issue refunds from their own Stripe balance. Fees aren't returned on refunds: Stripe keeps its fee and MOSbox keeps its 0.25%.
- Disputes and chargebacks. These are handled between the studio and Stripe under the studio's Stripe agreement.
- Autopay. MOSbox doesn't charge a client's saved card automatically unless the studio turns on autopay and the client agrees.
5. Email sent through MOSbox#
- A studio can connect its own mailbox so MOSbox sends its client emails from the studio's own address. How this works, and the rules for sending, are in the Email Policy. Those rules are part of these terms.
- The studio is responsible for what it sends, including following the laws on commercial email.
6. Your content#
- You keep ownership of everything you upload or create in MOSbox: photos, films, documents, contracts, templates and messages. We don't claim ownership.
- You give MOSbox permission to store, copy, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to run MOSbox for you and the people you share it with. That includes making thumbnails and streaming versions of your files. This permission ends when your content is deleted, except for copies kept under section 25 or required by law.
- You're responsible for having the rights to what you upload. That includes permission from the people in your photos and films, and a parent's or guardian's permission for anyone under 18.
- If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without owing you anything.
7. Studio responsibilities#
Each studio is responsible for:
- its own client relationships, contracts, pricing and services
- the content it uploads and publishes (publishing media to a Vault is a deliberate action)
- following the laws that apply to its business, including privacy, email and payment-fee rules
- the information it collects about its clients through MOSbox
MOSbox isn't a party to any agreement between a studio and its clients.
8. Closing a studio account#
- You can close your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account, or by emailing [email protected]. Before you delete, you're offered a download of your contracts and financial records. Deleting is permanent: your sign-in and your studio's records are deleted right away, except what's listed below.
- What's kept after you delete. Media you delivered follows section 14. Each client keeps their own record of their signed contracts and payments (section 25). Payment records are kept at least seven years, for tax records. Your Stripe account is yours and stays open.
- When we may suspend or close an account. We may do so if it breaks these terms, puts others at risk, or isn't paid. Where we reasonably can, we'll give notice and a chance to fix the problem first.
- Delivered media. When a studio account ends, media it delivered follows section 14.
Part B — For clients#
9. How clients use MOSbox#
- No account needed to work with a studio. You can fill in a studio's forms, read and sign its contracts, and pay its invoices without a MOSbox account.
- A Vault to keep what's delivered. To view and keep delivered photos and films, you use a free Vault.
- Your agreement with the studio is separate. The services, prices, delivery times and usage rights for your photos and films come from your contract with the studio, not from MOSbox. MOSbox isn't a party to that contract.
10. Paying a studio through MOSbox#
- Stripe. Payments are processed by Stripe on the studio's own Stripe account. Your card or bank details go to Stripe, not to MOSbox.
- Fees. If the studio passes processing fees to you, the fee is shown next to the Pay buttons before you pay. It's never charged on debit or prepaid cards; if you pay with one, the fee line is refunded automatically.
- Refunds and disputes about what you paid for are between you and the studio, under your contract with them. Bank-transfer and card disputes also follow Stripe's and your bank's rules.
11. Vaults#
- Free. Vaults are free. No client is ever charged for standard access to media delivered to them. The only exception is the optional Vault membership (section 15).
- When a Vault is created. A Vault is created when a studio's contract is signed or media is first delivered, whichever comes first. Vaults are matched by email address, ignoring capitals and extra spaces.
- More than one owner. A Vault can hold several verified email addresses, for example both partners. Each address must be verified before it gives access.
- Independent of any studio. A Vault exists independently of any studio. Ending a relationship with a studio doesn't delete it.
- Roles:
- Vault owners have full access to every gallery in the Vault and to their own contracts and payments. They can add verified emails and invite viewers.
- Viewers can only view galleries.
- Payers, such as a parent paying an invoice, need no account. They get a receipt and have no access to media.
- Deleting your account. A Vault owner can delete their account on their Vault page, or by emailing [email protected]. If another owner is on the Vault, only your access ends. If you're the last owner, the Vault closes: everything in it is removed, as if you'd removed it yourself, and viewers lose access. A studio's own records of your project (contracts, invoices, messages) stay with that studio.
12. A Vault is a place to keep what was delivered#
- Only the studio can add, change or remove the photos and videos it delivered.
- Clients can view and download their Delivered Media, and remove it from their own Vault. Clients can't upload, edit or replace photos and videos in a Vault.
- To fix or change something in a delivery, contact the studio.
13. Storage and the Forever commitment#
- No time limit while the studio is active. While the studio that delivered a gallery keeps an active MOSbox subscription, that Delivered Media stays available to the Vault at no charge and with no time limit.
- Tracked per project. If one studio on a Vault lapses while another stays active, only the lapsed studio's media is affected (section 14).
- Keep your own copies. MOSbox stores media on enterprise infrastructure (Cloudflare R2 and Cloudflare Stream) and takes reasonable care to preserve it. We still recommend keeping your own copies of files that matter to you.
14. When a studio's subscription lapses — the one-year wind-down#
If the studio that delivered a gallery stops paying for MOSbox, the gallery isn't deleted right away. It goes through a single, one-time wind-down:
- 90 days of free, full access. Vault owners can view and download everything. We notify them and invite them to start a Vault membership (section 15) or export their media (section 16).
- Safe storage. After the 90 days, if there's no Vault membership, access is paused but the media is kept. Owners can restore access at any time by starting a Vault membership.
- One-year limit. If no Vault membership is started within one year of the studio's lapse, the media may be permanently deleted after a final notice.
- The one-year clock starts once, at the lapse. Starting and later cancelling a membership doesn't reset or extend it. Each lapsing studio starts its own clock, which covers only the media that studio delivered.
- Reminders. We send reminders at the start of the wind-down, during storage, and before any deletion.
- Deleting on purpose is different. If the Vault owner removes their copy and the studio deletes its copy, the media is deleted at once, with no grace period and no recovery. MOSbox asks you to confirm before any deletion.
15. Vault membership#
- Optional, paid by the Vault. A Vault membership is optional and paid by the Vault, not the studio. Price: $19.99 per Vault per year, renewing automatically.
- Covers the whole Vault. One membership covers every gallery from every studio, including media delivered later. While it's active, that media stays available no matter what happens to any studio's subscription.
- The wind-down is used up once a membership starts. After that, if the membership is cancelled and no active studio covers the media, the Vault has 90 days to renew before the media may be permanently deleted. If an active studio still covers the media, cancelling simply returns the Vault to free access under section 13.
- Price changes. We may change the price with reasonable notice. A change never affects a year already paid.
- Not available yet in every Vault. Vault membership may not be available in every Vault yet. Where it isn't, the 90-day free access in section 14 and export (section 16) still apply.
16. Export and splitting a Vault#
- When owners can download. Vault owners can download or export Delivered Media at any time they have access:
- while the studio is active
- during the 90-day free period
- while a Vault membership is active
- The one year of safe storage is not free access. The media is held safely and can be recovered, but viewing or downloading it during that year requires a Vault membership. The free download window is the 90 days only.
- Splitting a Vault. If both owners ask, and verify the request, a Vault can be split into two independent accounts. Each keeps access to the shared Delivered Media. One owner alone can't split a Vault.
Part C — For everyone#
17. Age#
You must be 18 or older to use MOSbox.
18. Acceptable use#
Don't use MOSbox to:
- break the law or anyone's rights, including copyright and privacy
- upload content that sexualizes minors, or that is illegal, threatening or hateful
- send spam, or mislead people about who a message is from
- upload malware, or try to reach data that isn't yours
- probe or break MOSbox's security
- scrape, copy or resell MOSbox without our written permission
- overload the service in a way that harms other users
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
19. Changes to MOSbox#
MOSbox is growing, and features may change. We'll give reasonable notice before removing a feature studios depend on.
20. Disclaimers#
MOSbox is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that MOSbox will be uninterrupted or error-free. The Forever commitment in sections 13–16 is the specific promise we make about keeping delivered media.
21. Liability — how, why, when and where it applies#
What MOSbox is responsible for. MOSbox is responsible when it fails to do what these terms promise, or is careless in running the service. Two examples:
- losing Delivered Media we promised to keep under sections 13–16
- a security failure on our side
What MOSbox isn't responsible for. MOSbox is a tool that studios and clients use with each other. It isn't responsible for:
- a studio's services or its contract with a client, for example a wedding that isn't photographed or a delivery that's late
- disputes between studios and clients
- payments, refunds and chargebacks, which are handled between studios, clients and Stripe
- outages or failures of services we don't control, such as internet providers, Stripe, Google, Microsoft or Cloudflare
- events beyond our reasonable control, such as hurricanes, floods, fires, power failures and government actions
- content that a user deletes, or losses caused by someone using your sign-in details
- indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits, revenue or data. Our commitments in sections 13–16 still apply.
The most MOSbox owes. For all claims about the service, the most MOSbox owes anyone is the amount they paid MOSbox in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if that's more.
What the cap never covers. Nothing in these terms limits MOSbox's liability for intentional or gross fault, or for causing physical injury.
Where. Claims are heard in Louisiana (section 23).
If the law doesn't allow a limit. Where the law doesn't allow any part of this section, that part applies as far as the law allows.
22. Indemnity#
Each studio agrees to cover MOSbox against claims and costs arising from:
- its content
- its dealings with its clients
- its breach of these terms or the law
23. Law and disputes#
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Louisiana, and you and MOSbox agree to their jurisdiction.
24. Changes to these terms#
We may update these terms. We give at least 30 days' notice before important changes take effect.
- Studios get a notification in MOSbox, plus a banner.
- Clients see a banner in their portal or Vault the next time they visit.
You can read what changed, accept, or dismiss the notice. Using MOSbox after the change takes effect means you accept the new terms. We keep a record of who accepted which version.
25. How long we keep records#
- Delivered media — as described in sections 13–16.
- Contracts and signed agreements — for the life of the account, so both the studio and the client keep their record.
- Financial and payment records — at least seven years, for tax records.
26. The whole agreement#
These terms, the Privacy Policy and the Email Policy are the whole agreement between you and MOSbox about the service. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term right away, we haven't given it up.
